Changing things about your life can be hard. For every step forward, there are times that you feel you’ve gone back two steps. It’s hard to keep up the momentum, but the only way to succeed is to keep going. Here are a few quotes to keep you on your path.
My daughter came home last night after spending two-and-a-half weeks with her friend in Lithuania. I’m so glad that she was able to go. It was her first time on an airplane and her first time leaving the U.S. She had a great time and it was a fabulous experience.
This got me to thinking. Most of the U.S. population never leaves our country. Many of us never leave our region of the country. This is too sad. So many people work “part-time” and don’t even get a vacation, much less the opportunity to travel. Money is a huge issue also. It’s hard to make ends meet, much less pay for a vacation. I too, haven’t been able to go on an actual vacation for many many years. Bills always seem to come first.
While I was thinking about this, I was also thinking that there are many other things that I could do for out and abouting. This is a new expression I just came up with, isn’t it great? I’ve got hiking trails all around me that I haven’t walked yet. There are some not too expensive places to go and see in my state that I haven’t visited. So, what to do? I think that this fall, I will try to get “out and abouting” more often. There is so much to do and see, and as usual, little time before the snow flies. How about you? Do you have any ideas for someone short on cash, but with wanderlust running through their veins?
