A study done by Yale researchers has found that reading increases longevity. And, it’s not just any reading that makes the difference, it’s the reading of novels. The development of cognitive abilities is what makes novels so good at increasing someone’s life-span. This extension generally averaged 23 months, so it wasn’t a fantastic length of time, but again, 23 months is 23 months. Of course, the study found a correlation, not a causation. There will be more studies done to see if there is a causation.
So, here is the good news for all those book-worms. Stick your nose in as many books as you want. It’s good for you!
